As a rule, smaller electric units suit interior paint work, higher-output electric or petrol units suit facades and large surfaces, and heavy fillers/plasters need a machine rated for thick materials. Electric machines run quietly on mains power and are ideal for interiors and sites with a stable power supply. Petrol machines are autonomous — they work where there is no mains power and are typically chosen for large or remote sites and high daily output. Both spray the same materials; the choice mainly comes down to power availability, noise/emissions (petrol is not suitable indoors without ventilation) and the volume of work.

Plaster, filler and heavy spray putty need a machine rated for thick materials — higher flow and a pump built for abrasive, high-viscosity products, used with a larger reversible tip. Lighter interior fillers can be sprayed by strong electric units; heavy or continuous plastering is better suited to high-output models. Check the material and viscosity against each product’s specifications, or contact us and we will recommend a suitable machine and tip.

For emulsion, primer and facade paints, most electric airless machines are suitable. Choose the output to match the surface: compact units for rooms and interiors, higher-output units for facades and large areas. If you also spray thicker materials occasionally, pick a machine rated for those as well. The product specifications list flow rate and maximum tip size for each model.

The tip determines the spray width and how much material is applied. As a rule, thin coatings such as emulsion use smaller tips, while heavy materials such as filler and plaster use larger tips. The first two digits of an airless tip indicate the fan width and the last two the orifice size. The correct tip depends on the material and the machine’s maximum tip rating. No. Electric and petrol airless machines are self-contained — the built-in pump generates the pressure, so no separate compressor is needed. That is one of the main advantages of airless over conventional air spraying. The exception is pneumatic (air-assisted) and some two-component systems, which do use compressed air; their requirements are listed in the product specifications.

Airless machines typically handle emulsion and dispersion paints, primers, facade and silicone-resin paints, fillers and many plasters. Heavier and more abrasive materials require a machine rated for them and a larger tip. Always check the material’s suitability for airless application and the machine’s specifications. Regular care keeps an airless machine reliable: flush it thoroughly after each use, check and clean the tip and filters, and follow the cleaning and storage steps in the machine’s manual. Professional airless units support long hoses, but the usable length depends on the model, the pump and the material — longer hoses reduce the pressure reaching the tip, especially with heavy materials. Check the recommended hose length in your model’s specifications, or contact us for the recommended maximum for your machine and material.

Set the pressure just high enough to atomise the material evenly, then stop increasing it — running higher than necessary wastes material and wears the tip faster. Thicker materials generally need more pressure than thin paints. Start low, test on a sample surface and raise the pressure until the spray pattern is even. Refer to your machine’s manual for the correct procedure.

Before storage, clean and flush the machine and relieve the pressure. For longer breaks, many users preserve the pump with a suitable storage/anti-freeze fluid and store the unit in a dry, frost-free place. Follow the storage instructions in your machine’s manual, especially before winter or long idle periods.

Delivery is typically 1–2 business days within Germany and around 3–5 business days across the EU, after your order is confirmed. Larger freight items and remote regions can take longer. We ship across the European Union, as well as Switzerland and Liechtenstein. For other regions, contact us and we will check whether delivery is possible. For deliveries outside the EU, customs duties or import charges may apply depending on the destination.
